We’re celebrating the renaming of Cortellucci Square, the first public park to open in the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC)!

Located at 300 Maplecrete Rd., this vibrant square has become a popular destination since it opened in May thanks to its many amenities, including a winter skating loop, splashpad, unique playgrounds, benches, trees for shade, a pavilion with accessible restrooms and a room for community events.

Today, Mayor Steven Del Duca, Members of Council and residents were there to celebrate its new name: Cortellucci Square.

Formerly called Edgeley Park, it was renamed in honour of the Cortellucci family’s significant economic and social contributions to Vaughan, particularly their involvement in the development of the VMC and their philanthropic efforts in the community.

This local park adds to the growing list of outdoor spaces the City has created and enhanced for residents to enjoy, from parks, playgrounds and sports fields, to sports courts, splashpads and walking paths.
