Don’t miss it! Double-Up Days are back in two weeks

With all the backyard barbecues, celebrations and stay-cations you may have enjoyed this summer, you may have collected more garbage than usual. Good news: the City of Vaughan’s Double-Up Days are back the weeks of Sept. 17 or Sept. 24, depending on your regularly scheduled collection day. You can place up to six garbage items curbside for pickup – and paid garbage tags are not required.

Leave the car at home – walk, roll or bike to school!

It’s easy to hop in the car to take your kids to school, but there are so many other ways to get to class, like walking, wheeling with an assistive mobility device, cycling, scootering, rollerblading, skateboarding – the list goes on!

Not only will this help you foster a healthier lifestyle, but making the switch can also help improve road safety in our community. Are you up for the challenge?

What’s the buzz about?

As the summer weather subsides, you may notice more wasps and hornets buzzing around. While these insects benefit ecosystems because they control insect populations, they can become aggressive when their food supply diminishes. Managing their nests can be dangerous, so the City of Vaughan is providing resources on what to do if you see a wasp or hornet nest on public or private property.
