O, Christmas tree, o, Christmas tree, how lovely are your branches! The City of Vaughan will be hosting its annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on Friday, Dec. 1 – and you’re invited! 

 

Join Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council in the Courtyard outside Vaughan City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.) at 7 p.m. as we get ready to deck the halls!

Sort waste right this holiday shopping season

Shopping season is here, and Black Friday is just around the corner! Whether you’re buying gifts for loved ones or treating yourself to something new, you’ll likely end up with tissue paper, cardboard boxes, Styrofoam™ and other materials to sort through.

Donate to the City’s annual Toy Drive 


All Vaughan wants for Christmas is to gift unwrapped toys to every good girl and boy! Today, Mayor Steven Del Duca joined Jessica Smith in-studio at CP24 to launch the City of Vaughan’s 14th annual Toy Drive in support of the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish.  

 

New unwrapped toys for children aged newborn to 18 years old are being collected until Monday, Dec. 11 and can be dropped off at any of the following Vaughan locations:

City of Vaughan wins four marketing awards in economic development

The City’s Economic Development team has been recognized once again for their work to make Vaughan a place where entrepreneurship, business, tourism and art can prosper and grow!

 

During a special ceremonial presentation at today’s Council meeting, Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council recognized the department for receiving four Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC) Marketing Canada Awards.

 

Vaughan becomes first Canadian municipality to receive Triple Certification from World Council on City Data

We are building a resilient, sustainable, smart and prosperous city! In fact, the City of Vaughan’s high-calibre data makes our city-building efforts award winning. The City has been presented with Triple Certification from the World Council on City Data (WCCD), which makes Vaughan the first Canadian municipality to achieve all three certifications! 

 

Vaughan recognized as a Tree City of the World

Vaughan is a green city, dedicated to fostering a sustainable and healthier environment today and for future generations. For the second year in a row, the City of Vaughan has been recognized as a Tree City of the World by the Arbor Day Foundation, and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. 

 

This designation was celebrated during a special ceremonial presentation at today’s Council meeting by Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council.
