This morning, live on The Weather Network, Mayor Steven Del Duca and the City of Vaughan’s Public Works team officially revealed the 10 winning snowplow names as part of our first-ever Name the Plow initiative – and it was ‘snow’ successful!

Vaughan to host inaugural Diwali event

Celebrate with Mayor Del Duca and Members of Council on Nov. 20

 

To mark Diwali, Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council invite you to join them in celebration on Monday, Nov. 20, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Vaughan City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.). 

 

The first-ever event will feature greetings from Mayor Del Duca, traditional music and dance performances, and complimentary refreshments.

Vaughan is winter ready!

The City of Vaughan’s Public Works team prepares for winter long before the snow flies. As we gear up for the first flurries, we’re launching a weeklong educational campaign on how we keep Vaughan safe and moving.

Time to ‘fall’ back!

It’s that time of year when we gain one hour of sleep! When you’re turning your clocks back an hour tonight, be sure to also change the batteries in both your carbon monoxide (CO) and smoke alarms. As a general rule, it’s a good idea to change these alarm batteries every daylight savings – in the fall and in the spring.
