Building Vaughan

Vaughan is a city in demand. And as one of the fastest-growing cities in Canada, it continues to evolve. But city building doesn’t happen overnight. Well before construction begins, developments undergo a careful review by City of Vaughan staff, Vaughan Council, public agencies (such as the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, York Region and provincial ministries, where appropriate) … and you! 

 

Public feedback is a vital part of the planning process and there are many ways to have a say before a decision is made.

Help clear stormwater drains before it rains

There’s no shortage of leaves on the ground, and some of them will make their way onto and into catch basins – also known as stormwater drains, which are located in the road. Catch basins give rainwater somewhere to drain, preventing water ponding and flooding on roads. But this process doesn’t work if the drains are blocked or covered by yard waste!
