Your local park just got an upgrade!

As the temperature outside cools and the leaves change colours, there’s no better time to explore the green spaces in your community. The City of Vaughan has finished upgrading and repairing park trails and walkways at 40 locations across Vaughan. So, grab a warm sweater, gather your friends and family and head to your local park – it’s time to play!

Vaughan launches its Festival of Lights!

Join us for a kickoff event on Nov. 10 at City Hall

Festive lights and decorations are a hallmark of the holiday season, and, for many cultures and faiths, they are a meaningful symbol to get the community in the festive spirit at this time of year.

Get ready to be dazzled! The City of Vaughan will host its inaugural Festival of Lights celebration at Vaughan City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.) on Friday, Nov. 10 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Be alert, be aware and be seen on Halloween

Are you gearing up for Halloween night? Whether you’ll be driving, walking or wheeling, be mindful that streets will be very busy with children dressed in costumes and their parents as they head out to trick-or-treat!

The City of Vaughan has tips to ensure our ghosts and goblins have a safe and fun night.

Tips for drivers and cyclists:

Building Vaughan

City building doesn’t happen overnight. Well before construction begins, developments undergo a careful review by City of Vaughan staff, Vaughan Council, public agencies (such as the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, York Region and provincial ministries, where appropriate) … and you!

Public feedback is a vital part of the planning process and there are many ways to have a say before applications are approved.
