Community Improvement Plans (CIP)
About
The City of Vaughan is excited to introduce two new, innovative Community Improvement Plan (CIP) studies, which will identify a range of programs and incentives that facilitate:
It’s Waste Reduction Week!
Follow along for daily tips to waste less
Have you ever wondered how clothing and electronics are recycled? Do you know what the sharing economy is and how to participate? Well, there’s no better time to learn than during Waste Reduction Week!
It’s Local Government Week!
Did you know the third week of October is Local Government Week – the perfect time to learn more about the important role this level of government plays in our community.
The City operates within a two-tier municipal structure, which means there are two levels of government providing services to the community – the local municipality (Vaughan) and the regional municipality (York Region).
Keep a safe distance from coyotes and their dens
Did you know coyote pups grow over the summer and leave their dens in the fall? That’s why sightings often increase from September to December as young coyotes venture out to establish their own territory. Some juvenile (yearling) coyotes may remain with the family to help rear next year’s pups.
Location change: Join the Oct. 23 Weston 7 Open Houses at the Vellore Village Community Centre
Planning on attending the upcoming Weston 7 Open Houses on Wednesday, Oct. 23? Please note a location change – they are now taking place at the Vellore Village Community Centre (1 Villa Royale Ave.).
Have your say!
Vaughan Remembers
Every year, at the 11th hour, on the 11th day, of the 11th month, we honour the brave Canadians who served and continue to serve our country.
On Monday, Nov. 11, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council will host a Remembrance Day service at the Woodbridge Cenotaph (80 Wallace St.) to commemorate the brave Canadians who risked – and, in many cases, lost – their lives during times of war, conflict and peace.
