Vaughan’s Culture Days celebration ranks among the top in Canada!

Every year, hundreds of cities, towns and regions of all sizes come together to participate in Culture Days – a national celebration of the vibrancy of arts and culture in their communities. And this year, Vaughan’s festivities were among the best, ranking eighth overall as a Top Participating Community and fifth among mid-sized cities in Canada. 

 

This ranking was celebrated by Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council during a special ceremonial presentation at today’s Council meeting.

Of the more than 19,500 businesses in Vaughan, more than 87 per cent are small enterprises. To set those small businesses up for success, the City’s Vaughan Business and Entrepreneurship Centre (VBEC) offers comprehensive support, including business information, resources, training and hands-on assistance, for aspiring and existing entrepreneurs starting or growing their businesses in Vaughan.

Join us to light the Menorah!

This holiday season, the Vaughan community will come together once again to observe Chanukah. Join Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council today at 4 p.m. for the annual Menorah Lighting Ceremony at City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.)!

 

Rabbi Mendel Kaplan, founder and spiritual leader of Chabad Flamingo, will preside over the festival of lights ceremony, which will also include a performance by the Shmuel Zahavy Cheder Chabad Boys Choir.
