Streamline Development Approval Fund

On January 19, 2022, the Province met with city mayors and regional chairs at the Ontario Housing Affordability Summit to discuss the housing crisis and coordinate efforts to increase the supply of homes across the province. Premier Ford announced at the Summit that more than $45 million in funding will be provided to help Ontario’s 39 largest municipalities modernize, streamline and accelerate processes for managing and approving housing applications.

On Sunday, Nov. 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Vaughan Animal Services is hosting an adopt-a-thon at 70 Tigi Crt., Unit 47 for animals in our care. There are cats and dogs in need of a loving home. Come meet them – there’s no appointment needed!

Your local park just got an upgrade!

As the temperature outside cools and the leaves change colours, there’s no better time to explore the green spaces in your community. The City of Vaughan has finished upgrading and repairing park trails and walkways at 40 locations across Vaughan. So, grab a warm sweater, gather your friends and family and head to your local park – it’s time to play! 

 

Vaughan launches its Festival of Lights!

Festive lights and decorations are a hallmark of the holiday season, and, for many cultures and faiths, they are a meaningful symbol to get the community in the festive spirit at this time of year. 

 

Get ready to be dazzled! The City of Vaughan will host its inaugural Festival of Lights celebration at Vaughan City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.) on Friday, Nov. 10 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Are you gearing up for Halloween night? Whether you’ll be driving, walking or wheeling, be mindful that streets will be very busy with children dressed in costumes and their parents as they head out to trick-or-treat!
