City of Vaughan Committee and Council meetings continue in December with in-person and virtual attendance options for Members of Council and the public. 

Public consultation remains a vital part of the planning and city-building process. There are many ways you can participate in meetings and have your say, including: 

Vaughan’s 2023 Budget is underway

Citizens first through Service Excellence. The City of Vaughan’s upcoming budget process will be guided by this statement. The 2023 Budget and 2024 to 2026 Financial Plan will outline a progressive plan to move the city forward, all while continuing to deliver more than 200 daily community programs and services effectively and efficiently. 

Ontario Building Code Review

Ontario Building Code is a regulation under the Building Code Act. It establishes detailed technical and administrative requirements and minimum standards for building construction. The Ontario Building Code promotes public health and safety, fire protection, resource conservation, environmental integrity and accessibility. Its purpose is the promotion of public safety through the application of uniform building standards.

 

Flooding

In Vaughan, flash flooding of roads, catch basins, stormwater systems and some rivers can occur because of heavy rainfall over a short period of time. Flood-contaminated water can carry diseases, hazardous materials and debris that can cause harm to people and properties.
