Wendy Law joins Vaughan as City Solicitor

announce that Wendy Law is joining the City of Vaughan as the new City
Solicitor. Ms.
Law’s first day is May 6.
Ms. Law has
more than nine years of senior management experience.

Ongoing investments safeguard Vaughan communities from severe weather events
Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua issued the following statement, in response to today’s funding announcement of $16 million from Infrastructure Canada to support the City’s ability to better protect residents from natural hazards.
“The funding committed today will strengthen our resilience to climate change, while allowing Vaughan communities to better cope with severe weather events.

City initiatives are creating enhanced opportunities by improving the way data

and businesses rely on each day, Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua said. The Mayor’s
comments come as the City takes part in the 2019 Smart City Summit and Expo in Taipei,
Taiwan, from March 25 to 29.

people around the world by powering down for one hour. Earth Hour is an

of Vaughan has taken another important step forward to build on our success and
advance an agenda to be a Smart City leader, Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua said.
During a meeting of Council on March 19, Council endorsed Mayor Bevilacqua’s
Member’s Resolution for the City of Vaughan to sign a Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) with US Ignite and to join the organization’s Smart Gigabit
Community.
