Mayor Bevilacqua Takes the Vaughan Advantage to Israel

Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua met with the Mayor of the Eilot Regional Council and other key stakeholders during day three of a seven-day business mission in Israel that began on Sept. 28.
 
Over the course of the first two days, Vaughan delegates have toured through some of the most advanced solar and water energy projects in the world and met with more than 20 companies in pre-arranged one-on-one meetings, including PowerCom smart metering and Panago parking systems.

The City of Vaughan is leading an innovative business mission to Israel that includes 23 participants representing 21 different companies. The mission, which will run from Sept. 28 to Oct. 6, is part of the City’s International Business Development program.

TEDxVaughan Event on Sept. 20 will Feature Live Video Stream from New York City

On Sept. 20, TEDxVaughan will come to the City of Vaughan’s City Playhouse Theatre. The independently organized event, licensed by TED, will coincide with similar TEDx events being hosted in communities around the world and include a live video stream to the anchor event – TEDCity2.0 – at The TimesCenter in New York City.

Extended Hours at Vaughan Community Centres in Response to Extreme Heat

The City of Vaughan will extend the hours of operation at a number of community centres today – Sept. 10 – in response to the extreme heat.

Community centre hours have been extended to 11 p.m. at five facilities across the City. Community centres are air-conditioned and are equipped with water fountains.

The extended hours will continue until the humidex advisory has been lifted.
