Curb Appeal Winners Recognized By Council

Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council recently recognized 20 Curb Appeal winners for their efforts in helping to beautify the City. The Curb Appeal program features residents and businesses that take pride in beautifying and maintaining their properties.
 
“Our Curb Appeal ceremony was held to thank the recipients for their dedication, pride and hard work in creating some wonderful landscapes in their neighbourhoods,” said Mayor Bevilacqua.

Vaughan Creates More Green Space - Official Opening Of Twelve Oaks Park

The City’s newest green space – Twelve Oaks Park – was officially opened yesterday as Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua, Members of Council and residents took part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the occasion.
 
“This new park provides great recreational facilities and contributes to the vitality and growth in our community,” said Mayor Bevilacqua. “The creation of this park adds to our quality of life and local community spirit.

'Team of the Year' - Glen Shields Sun Devils Soccer Team Recognized by Vaughan Council

The Glen Shields Sun Devils 2000 under-11 soccer team was presented with a special recognition certificate by Vaughan Council at a Committee of the Whole Public Hearing meeting. The team is the first-ever winner of the BMO Team of the Year contest. Among the prizes, the team won $125,000 for a soccer renovation project in their community.

The City Of Vaughan Revises Its Official Plan In Response To Public Input

Pedestrian-friendly neighbourhoods, an urban approach to new developments, and a focus on job creation are some of the highlights of an updated version of the City of Vaughan’s Official Plan presented Monday evening, September 12 at a Special Committee of the Whole meeting.  
 
“I am pleased that our residents and businesses continue to contribute to the Official Plan process, demonstrating a strong commitment to the future of this City,” said Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua.
