Vaughan Continues to Cultivate Green Spaces with a Community Garden Policy

Vaughan Council approved a Community Garden Policy on April 8 that will provide a framework for establishing community gardens in Vaughan and fostering a culture that supports sustainable practices.
The policy provides guidelines for where community gardens can be created and how they are maintained. It also raises awareness of how a collective community effort can lead to enhanced community engagement and vitality and help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Greenhouse Gas Emission Community Action Plan Approved by Vaughan Council

In an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from community sources, Vaughan Council has approved the Greenhouse Gas Emission Community Action Plan. The plan is an important component of Green Directions Vaughan, the City’s Community Sustainability and Environmental Master Plan.
Vaughan Aquatic Staff are Provincial Champions for Third Straight Year

A ceremonial presentation was held at Council today to recognize Vaughan aquatic staff who captured 28 medals at the 2014 Ontario Lifesaving Sport Championships. For the third consecutive year, the Vaughan Masters teams retained the title of Provincial Champions.
Al Palladini Community Centre Celebrates 25th Anniversary

The City of Vaughan hosted a community celebration on April 5 to mark the 25th anniversary of the Al Palladini Community Centre. Free family activities scheduled throughout the day included skating, swimming, face painting and fitness centre access.
