It’s cold out there! Did you know extreme cold temperatures can cause household water pipes to freeze, burst or leak? Whether you will be away from home for a long period of time or you haven’t yet prepped your pipes for the cold, the City of Vaughan is reminding you how to avoid unexpected problems – and subsequent expensive repairs – to keep water flowing easily in your home.
Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua issued the following statement after chairing the Ontario Municipal Leaders Summit on Antisemitism hosted by the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) on Friday, Jan. 21:
On New Year’s Eve, you may have resolved to spend more time cooking,
reading or exercising, but have you thought about making a resolution to drive
safely? Road safety remains a top priority, and the City of Vaughan encourages
you to take this opportunity to commit to safe driving in 2022 and beyond. That
resolution and adjustments to your driving habits may save a life.
Following Monday’s unprecedented blizzard, the City of Vaughan’s winter operations crews continue
to clear snow from sidewalks throughout the community. Residents walking to
school or work should allow extra time and take precautions on sidewalks.
