In 1996, the City of Vaughan hosted the grand opening of the City Playhouse Theatre when its curtain raised for the first time with the launch of a three-month “Festival of Arts.” Fast-forward 25 years, and the love of live theatre and performing arts still holds strong throughout the city. 

As the global COVID-19 pandemic evolves and the Omicron variant spreads quickly across Ontario and Canada, the City of Vaughan remains focused on monitoring and responding to the situation to protect citizens, businesses and the greater community.

When cooking your holiday meal, follow these tips to ensure it goes off without a hitch:

Do you represent an organization that is advancing a cause that requires greater public awareness? Or does your association have a special event taking place in 2022 that celebrates the diversity, heritage and culture of the community? Submit a request to have an observance commemorated with a flag-raising, illumination or proclamation from the City of Vaughan.  

The halls are decked and presents are wrapped, but the fight against COVID-19 is not over. With the holidays in full swing, the City of Vaughan is encouraging everyone to do their part in reducing the spread of the virus. Being safe is the best holiday gift this year.
