Inaugural meeting of the 2014 to 2018 Vaughan Council and swearing-in ceremony for the Mayor and Members of Council.

​Families in need this holiday season will be getting a big hand from Vaughan, as the fifth annual toy drive in support of the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish kicked off yesterday. Students and staff from St. Agnes of Assisi and Guardian Angels Catholic Elementary Schools joined Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua to officially launch the toy drive.

​The holiday shopping season has arrived with the ninth annual Vaughan of a Kind Art + Craft Show. This showcase of arts and crafts will be held on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Vellore Village Community Centre.

​From major sports to youth sports, concussions have become an important topic for parents, coaches and players. Raising awareness and helping minor sports groups and organizations become informed is part of the City of Vaughan’s fourth annual Sports Congress.

​The City of Vaughan is undertaking construction work along Major Mackenzie Drive at Highway 400, on the Vaughan Healthcare Precinct site, to prepare the land for the future Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital. 

​What does it mean when you plant a tree? It means that City streets, parks, playgrounds and open spaces become a green landscape that beautifies the community and improves quality of life. Thousands of trees across Vaughan were damaged or destroyed by the December 2013 ice storm and the City is working with external partners to plant new trees and grow the tree canopy.

These are the unofficial results of the 2014 Municipal Elections in the City of Vaughan. The official results, as certified by Jeffrey A. Abrams, City Clerk at the City of Vaughan, will be released on Thursday, Oct. 30.
