New FREE programs to keep older adults aged 55 years and up active and engaged

The City of Vaughan is committed to providing older adults with many programs and activities to help them stay active and engaged. In addition to all the great opportunities to get involved throughout the year, we are now offering two exciting new initiatives – Coffee Connections and Basic First Aid – thanks to funding from the Province of Ontario’s 2024-2025 Seniors Community Grant Program.

Procedure By-law Review

Under Section 238 of the Municipal Act, 2001, every municipality in Ontario must have a Procedure By-law. This by-law governs how Committee and Council meetings run, including how they’re called, where they happen, who’s involved, the roles and conduct of Members of Council, reporting requirements and how the City communicates with the public about meetings. It also guides the way you can interact with Council by speaking at meetings or submitting written communications. 

 

Eight outstanding individuals to be honoured with the Order of Vaughan

The Order of Vaughan is the highest civic honour the City of Vaughan may bestow on individuals who exemplify extraordinary citizenship and better the community. On Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m., Mayor Steven Del Duca will preside over the City’s 2024 Order of Vaughan investiture ceremony at Vaughan City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.) 

 

The 2024 Order of Vaughan will be awarded to the following eight remarkable individuals for their pivotal role in shaping the community:
