2028 Waste Collection Contract

The City of Vaughan manages the curbside collection of organics, recycling, garbage, leaf and yard waste, and appliance and large metal items. These items are all picked up by the City’s contractor, Miller Waste Systems.

The City’s current 10-year waste collection contract is nearing its end, so we’re actively preparing for the next one, taking effect in 2028.

Vaughan recognized for excellence in Public Works

Every year, the City of Vaughan goes all out for National Public Works Week – a celebration of the people who keep our roads safe, our water clean, our parks beautiful and so much more. Our efforts to mark this occasion are being recognized – with the Canadian Public Works Association (CPWA) National Public Works Week Award!

Celebrating Vaughan’s award-winning approach to patrolling roads

Vaughan’s roadways just got smarter! The City of Vaughan is always looking for ways to enhance its commitment to delivering high quality services to its residents – one way is through its Road Patrol Manager. This tool relies on artificial intelligence to identify road deficiencies, like potholes. Quick detection of road deficiencies means the City can complete repairs faster, extending the life of local road infrastructure and freeing up resources to be used elsewhere.
