Employment Opportunities

Committed to employment equity, the City of Vaughan encourages applications from First Nations, Metis and Inuit people, members of Black communities, persons with disabilities, members of visible minority groups, the 2SLGBTQ+ community and women. In accordance with Ontario Human Rights Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, and the City of Vaughan’s Accommodation Policy, accommodations will be provided in all parts of the hiring process. Applicants are required to make their needs known in advance.

Age-Friendly Community Action Plan

As the senior population across Canadian communities continues to increase, it is more important than ever to support the health and well-being of older adults. The city of Vaughan is a growing municipality, expected to reach a population of approximately 500,000 by 2041. It is projected that older adults (55 years and older) will make up the largest portion of the population of Vaughan, representing more than 30 per cent of the total population by 2031.

Citizen Survey

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2024 Citizen Survey. The survey closed on Nov. 19.

The City of Vaughan values the feedback and opinions of its residents and this data contributes to measuring the impact of City services, service delivery improvement and future planning initiatives. The City is committed to maintaining transparency. The results of the survey will be published here once the responses have been analyzed.

Contaminated or Potentially Contaminated Sites Policy

An update to the City of Vaughan's Contaminated Sites Policy that was originally adopted by Council on May 14, 2001 was completed in early 2014. As significant updates have occurred to the legislation relating to contaminated sites since 2001, an update to the Contaminated Sites Policy was required to ensure the City's environmental review process was consistent with current industry practices and regulations as well as remaining effective and efficient for Vaughan's development application review process.
