The City’s Vaughan Celebrates program has won two Festivals and Events Ontario (FEO) Achievement Awards: Best Promotional Campaign ($100,000 or less) and Best Youth Initiative. The program is comprised of WinterFest, Canada Day and Concerts in the Park.

The City of Vaughan is holding a Public Open House on Thursday, April 25 to discuss proposed cycling options on Napa Valley Avenue, including dedicated bike lanes. The open house will be held at St. Stephen Catholic Elementary School at 451 Napa Valley Avenue in Woodbridge from 7 to 9 p.m.

Hundreds of residents attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council on Saturday, April 6, to mark the official opening of the new Vellore Village Fitness Centre. 

The fitness centre is part of the Vellore Village Community Centre at 1 Villa Royale Avenue. It is on the west side of Weston Road, north of Rutherford Road. The facility is the sixth City-operated fitness facility located at Vaughan community centres.

Pierre Lemieux, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture, on behalf of Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz and Natural Resources Minister Joe Oliver, announced today that the Asian Long-horned Beetle (ALHB) has been successfully eradicated from Canada, following nearly a decade of collaborative efforts between federal, provincial and municipal authorities.
