Vaughan brings efficiencies to the Committee and Council Meeting cycle

The City of Vaughan values civic engagement and public feedback. That is why Council meets regularly to discuss issues impacting the community. Beginning September 2019, there will be an updated meeting cycle that includes two Committee of the Whole Meetings, one Committee of the Whole (Public Hearing), one Committee of the Whole (Closed Session) and one Council Meeting.

Labour Day holiday closures

Municipal offices and facilities closed on Monday, Sept. 2
 
Please be advised of the following City of Vaughan facility closures, alternate hours and changes in programming for the Labour Day statutory holiday on Monday, Sept. 2.
 
Municipal facilities
City offices at Vaughan City Hall and the Joint Operations Centre will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2. Municipal facilities will reopen on Tuesday, Sept.

Statement: Mayor Bevilacqua reflects on the Vaughan tornado

Remembering our community’s strength and compassion 10 years later
 
Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua issued the following statement to mark the 10-year anniversary of the tornado that touched down in Vaughan:
 
“August 20, 2009, is a day Vaughan citizens will never forget. It was the day a tornado hit our city, reminding us of the humbling power of nature.
