“Today, we mark another important milestone in our healthcare journey; the construction of Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital is now substantially complete.

City piloting new innovative approach to waste
collection in parks
The City of Vaughan is launching a pilot
project using Quick Response (QR) Codes to alert staff about full garbage cans
in City parks. Residents will be able to scan the code found on the garbage can
using their smartphone to notify City staff when it is full and needs to be
emptied. Regular waste collection of these bins will continue, but the codes will
allow residents to alert the City when additional cleaning is required.

The City of Vaughan continues to provide support for seniors as facilities and amenities gradually reopen to the public. Starting today, older adults, over the age of 60, will have access to exclusive workout times by appointment. These sessions will take place Monday to Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. These designated time slots are subject to change based on member feedback and needs at each fitness centre.
School zone safety
City urges all road users to be cautious as students head back to school
As students make their way back to class, there will be more pedestrian and vehicular traffic on the road. It is important for drivers, parents and children to be alert, follow the rules of the road, and walk safely – especially in school zones.
