Vaughan Announces Concerts in the Park Lineup
“Concerts in the Park celebrate Vaughan as a vibrant and multicultural City,
Carrville Mill Park was officially opened Tuesday as residents joined Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the occasion.
City of Vaughan staff will be reaching out to the community to encourage residents to adopt healthier lifestyles by taking the City’s Active Living Campaign to Vaughan Mills Mall on Friday, June 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Vaughan is the Miller Cup champion for a fifth consecutive year. The City’s Public Works team once again placed first at the annual York Area Municipalities Public Works Week Challenge Event which took place May 23. Vaughan competed against nine other municipalities in a skills competition held in conjunction with National Public Works Week, May 20 to 26.
The second annual Girl Power Youth Forum was held recently at the Vellore Village Community Centre in Vaughan. The forum, hosted by the City of Vaughan in collaboration with York Regional Police, brought together 75 girls from secondary schools across Vaughan to discuss relevant youth topics.
The City of Vaughan has produced three public safety videos. The videos are entitled Pull Over For Emergency Vehicles, Wind Warning and Stay Clear Of Power Lines and feature an animated mascot named PrepE the penguin.
