Today the City of Vaughan marks Canada Day with a virtual event that will bring the community together starting at 1:50 p.m. at vaughan.ca/CanadaDay. It will provide an opportunity to reflect upon the country’s past while also offering activities and entertainment for the entire family to participate in from home.

Andrew Zvanitajs promoted to Vaughan Fire Chief

Dedicated member of VFRS takes the helm after almost 25 years with the service
 
City Manager Nick Spensieri is pleased to announce that Vaughan Council has ratified the appointment of Andrew Zvanitajs as the new Chief of Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service (VFRS) after almost 25 years with the service.
 
Chief Zvanitajs first joined VFRS in 1997 after completing a bachelor’s degree from McMaster University and a paramedic diploma from Algonquin College.
