City of Vaughan Collects 7,725 Toys for CTV's Toy Mountain in Support of The Salvation Army

The City of Vaughan collected 7,725 toys for CTV’s Toy Mountain in support of the Salvation Army. The City hosted the third annual event on December 17 at the North Thornhill Community Centre.

CTV and The Salvation Army are partners in providing disadvantaged children with a toy to open during the holidays. The Toy Mountain Drive is in its 17th year and this year’s goal is to collect 150,000 toys by December 24.

Tis the season to get active at your local community centre

The City of Vaughan is offering family-friendly, drop-in leisure activities at community centres across Vaughan during the holiday break from December 22, 2012 to January 6, 2013.
 
Free recreational ice-skating, sponsored by Tim Hortons, is available at Al Palladini, Garnet A. Williams and Maple arenas. Free, supervised skate time is also offered at the City’s outdoor rinks.

City of Vaughan Collects Thousands of Toys for CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish

Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council today thanked residents, businesses, schools and City staff for their donations to the City of Vaughan Toy Drive in support of the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish. The Mayor also presented a joint donation of $10,000, from the money raised at the Mayor’s Gala and by PowerStream, to the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish program. 

Program Review Supports a Proactive Approach to Managing City's Future

Vaughan Council continues to implement a proactive and forward-looking approach to budget planning by incorporating a Program Review into the City’s 2013-2016 budget guidelines. A Program Review has been conducted and operational reviews of selected programs have been identified to ensure that the City continues to deliver high quality services and value for the property tax dollar.
