Vaughan Fire Chief Larry Bentley announces retirement

The City of Vaughan’s Fire Chief Larry Bentley is retiring after more than 38 years of exceptional public service. His last day as Vaughan’s Fire Chief will be May 31, 2018.

Chief Bentley is a seasoned veteran of the Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service (VFRS). After joining the VFRS in 1979, Chief Bentley was promoted to the rank of captain in 1990, platoon chief in 1996, deputy fire chief in 2006 and fire chief in 2013.

As part of the City of Vaughan’s commitment to advancing a culture of excellence in governance, a mandatory Lobbyist Registry was introduced in January 2018. It tracks communication between public officials, people, organizations or businesses that have the intention to affect changes to legislation, regulations, programs and more.
