The City of Vaughan’s annual Lunar New Year celebration returns! So, mark your calendars and come join us on Sunday, Feb. 9, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Vaughan City Hall for this year’s event, which will include fun family-friendly entertainment, musical performances, a traditional lion dance and free refreshments.
During tonight’s Committee of the Whole (Public Meeting), Mayor Steven Del Duca, Ward 2 Councillor Adriano Volpentesta and Members of Council recognized Sara Tripodi as the 2024 Ward 2 Civic Hero with a special ceremonial presentation.

Every year, hundreds of cities, towns and regions of all sizes come together to participate in Culture Days – a national celebration of the vibrancy of arts and culture in their communities. In 2024, Vaughan’s festivities were once again recognized among the best of the Top Participating Communities, ranking fifth place overall and second among small municipalities.
This success was celebrated by Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council during a special ceremonial presentation at today’s Committee of the Whole (1) meeting.
