About Neighbourhood Traffic Calming Plan
A key focus of this project is to move towards a road network where residential and collector streets – the types of streets with homes, schools, neighbourhood parks, local businesses and community centres – are safe, welcoming and comfortable for users of all ages and abilities. The City knows streets are best when they help everyone to feel connected, healthy and safe in their community, which is why this project is underway – to create a policy and resources to create streets where everyone feels welcomed.
Throughout this project, the City aims to:
Get Involved with Neighbourhood Traffic Calming Plan
Multiple opportunities across various channels will be provided for residents to get involved, add their voice to the conversation, discuss road safety concerns and share ideas for improving road safety in the community.
Neighbourhood Traffic Calming Plan
Now that the City has a stronger sense of which tools are best suited for Vaughan, a new traffic calming toolbox (a selection of traffic calming measures) has been developed. The goal of this toolbox is to help the City address road safety concerns and ensure appropriate traffic calming and speed management approaches are integrated into new and existing roads in Vaughan.
