Site Alteration By-law 031-2024
The new Site Alteration By-law 031-2024 authorizes the City to create a new regulatory framework to address and monitor site alteration and the movement of fill, including excess soil. This modern framework includes:
Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council dedicated the fountain outside Vaughan City Hall in honour of Queen Elizabeth II today, which marks the first anniversary of her passing. They were joined by British Consul General to Toronto Fouzia Younis and members of the community for this special ceremony.

2023: A new contractor with the expertise to complete a construction project of this scale has been hired by the City and work is now resuming.
2022: A newsletter was sent to residents notifying them of construction delays caused by unforeseen circumstances with the hired contractor.

The City of Vaughan is working to enhance Kleinburg Village. Future improvements include adding cycling facilities, more parking areas, roadway and pedestrian lighting, streetscaping and landscape features, a watermain replacement and more. Work will start in 2024 – but you can get involved now before it begins!

Do you know why trees are so important? Well, they contribute to our overall quality of life by producing oxygen, improving mental and physical health, and providing shelter for animals and food for humans. Trees also cool the air, save water, reduce noise pollution, capture stormwater runoff and beautify the community.
Vaughan is a city that recognizes and celebrates arts, culture and heritage. As part of this commitment, the City of Vaughan will once again play host to the Ontario Culture Days Festival this fall. The 2023 Vaughan Culture Days Festival Hub will be presented by TD and include free community events taking place from Friday, Sept. 22 to Sunday, Oct. 15.
Edebwed Ogichidaa Kwe or She who speaks the truth (known as Elder Valarie King in English), elder from the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, will lead the Sisters in Spirit Vigil in City of Vaughan for the second year. We invite members of the public to join this event to learn and express solidarity and grief over generations of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and Two-Spirit people.
In 2022, this important event received the People's Choice Spotlight Award through ON Culture Days.
