Mayor's Golf Classic

Established in 2011, the Spirit of Generosity initiative has raised millions of dollars to enhance the lives of many in Vaughan and beyond. All funds raised from the Mayor’s Gala and Mayor Steven Del Duca’s Annual Charity Golf Classic will be directed to the Spirit of Generosity initiative, which continues its meaningful support of more than 250 non-profit and community organizations, including children and youth groups, healthcare initiatives, seniors’ organizations, and special needs programs.

The City maintains trail systems and other naturalized areas to preserve Vaughan’s natural habitat.

 

The City manages more than 200 parks and more than 800 hectares of parks and open spaces. Grass in these areas is cut on a two-week rotation, from May to October.

  • Anthony Locilento Park (351 Velmar Dr.)

  • Bindertwine Park (299 Stegman’s Mill Rd.)

Edgeley Pond and Park

The vision is to build a sustainable open space at the centre of the VMC that will function as a hybrid of vital stormwater management infrastructure and create an innovative public space design. In order to unlock future development potential, retrofitting of the pond is required which will also provide water quality and flood control, and optimize ecological function.
