City building doesn’t happen overnight. Well before construction begins, developments undergo a careful review by City staff, Vaughan Council, public agencies (such as the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, York Region and provincial ministries, where appropriate) … and you! Public feedback is a vital part of the planning process and there are many ways to have a say before applications are approved. 

Water leaks can happen to anyone – and most leaks are silent, which makes them hard to find. Whether they come from your toilet, bathtub, washing machine or dishwasher, they can cause a high water and wastewater bill and costly damage to your home. That’s why the City of Vaughan is providing tips you can use to help catch leaks early – or hopefully prevent them before they even happen.

As snow starts to pile up, the City of Vaughan is reminding everyone to keep parked cars off the roads during and after snowfalls to allow City crews to clear streets and sidewalks properly. On-street parking blocks our plows from safely passing around parked cars, and streets and sidewalks may not be plowed as a result.  

As City of Vaughan crews continue to clean up in response to this week’s snowfall, the City is answering some of the top snow-related questions received from residents. 

Winter is here, and more snowfall is in the forecast for this weekend. To help ensure winter operations run smoothly and efficiently, the City of Vaughan is reminding you that shovelled snow does NOT belong on the road. In fact, it’s against the law to place it there.
