Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service celebrates 16 new firefighters


The City of Vaughan is one of the safest communities in the country, and has a fire service that is dedicated to protecting the health and well-being of its citizens. At a graduation ceremony today, Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service took time to recognize its members as they celebrated 16 new firefighters, 11 promotions, two new fire inspectors and one new communications operator.

Vaughan launches Lobbyist Registry

New framework strengthens accountability and openness

As part of the City of Vaughan’s commitment to transparency and accountability, a Lobbyist Registry has been implemented, effective Jan. 1. Lobbying activities can be registered through an online portal on a voluntary basis for 2017 to educate and train stakeholders. The Lobbyist Registry is anticipated to become mandatory in 2018.
