Parties Agree to Settlement in City Hall Project

The parties involved in the litigation regarding the design and construction of the City of Vaughan's new City Hall have reached a $17.125-million settlement to end the litigation.

This settlement will avoid further costly litigation and put an end to the legal action relating to the City Hall construction. The parties involved include Maystar General Contractors Inc., Kuwabara Payne McKenna Blumberg Architects and the City.

City of Vaughan Extends Community Centre and Splash Pad Hours in Response to Extreme Heat

The City of Vaughan continues to extend the hours of operation at a number of community centres and splash pads in response to the extreme heat.

Community centre hours have been extended to 11 p.m. at five facilities across the City. Community centres are air conditioned and are equipped with water fountains. Some splash pads will be open until 11 p.m.

Mayor's Golf Tournament Tees Off in Support of Local Community Groups

A sold-out field of golfers teed up at the Copper Creek Golf Club in Vaughan for the Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua Annual Charity Golf Classic on Tuesday, July 9. The tournament was an overwhelming success, raising more than $130,000 for not-for-profit and community organizations. 
 
“Once again this year the community came together to support the many organizations that are at the heart of what makes our City great,” said Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua.
