What wipes (and other unflushables) do to pipes
Clogged sewage pipes? Not a pretty picture. Residents may not be aware that there are many things that should not be flushed down the toilet and the consequences of doing so. The City of Vaughan’s sanitary sewer system is designed to dispose of human waste, toilet paper and wastewater only. Flushing anything else may cause damage to household plumbing.

What’s in a name? The Civic Holiday being celebrated on Monday, Aug. 1 this year is known by many names as some cities and provinces have chosen to celebrate historically significant individuals or organizations to create meaning around the day. In Vaughan, the Civic Holiday is a commemoration of Benjamin Vaughan, a British diplomat and the City’s namesake.
