Chanukah Celebrated at City Hall with Menorah Lighting Ceremony

A special menorah lighting ceremony in celebration of Chanukah was held at Vaughan City Hall on Tuesday, Dec. 16. Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council joined residents, guests and City staff for the special event. The ceremony marked the first night of Chanukah.
 
Chanukah, also known as the Festival of Lights, is an eight-day Jewish holiday celebrated each year to commemorate the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem in the second century BC.

Waste Collection Picked Up One Day Later During the Festive Season

The holiday season means a change of routine for everyone and that includes when garbage and recycling will be picked up in the City of Vaughan. For some residents, waste collection will be picked up one day later during the festive season.
 
Waste collections scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 25 will be picked up one day later on Friday, Dec. 26. Waste collections scheduled for Friday, Dec. 26 will be picked up one day later on Saturday, Dec. 27.
