​The City of Vaughan has been cited as a leading example of a municipality implementing a local system for residents to appeal provincial parking and licensing offences by the Law Commission of Ontario. In its recent Modernization of the Provincial Offences Act report, the Commission recommends the wider use of Administrative Monetary Penalties, noting that Vaughan is one of only two municipalities to implement such a system for enforcing parking by-laws.

​The sixth annual Vaughan Of a Kind art and craft show will be held on Saturday, November 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Vellore Village Joint Complex, located at 1 Villa Royale Avenue in Woodbridge.

The City of Vaughan will hold its second annual toy drive in support of the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish with an official launch taking place on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at St. John Bosco Catholic Elementary School. 

November is Diabetes Awareness Month and the City of Vaughan, in partnership with the Vaughan Community Health Centre, will provide workshops and screening sessions on diabetes, cholesterol and hypertension at select Vaughan community centres.

The City of Vaughan hosted the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) annual 905 breakfast and bus tour yesterday. This was the first time that NAIOP, a leading organization of developers, owners and related professionals in the office, industrial and mixed-use real estate sector, paid a visit to Vaughan.

​Vaughan Council has approved the establishment of a new task force to promote the Yonge Subway Extension which would extend the subway from Finch Station to the City of Vaughan and the Town of Richmond Hill.

Yesterday’s official opening of Venice Gate Park was highlighted by a ribbon-cutting ceremony as residents, Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council gathered to celebrate the City’s newest green space.
