Temporary burn ban lifted in Vaughan
VFRS reminds everyone to exercise caution with outdoor fires
Due to the improving weather conditions, Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service (VFRS) has lifted the temporary burn ban put in place on June 6.
Although the ban has been lifted, VFRS is advising you to continue to exercise caution when conducting permitted open-air burning, and using outdoor firepits and barbecues.

Mayor Del Duca and Council welcome Italian delegation to City Hall
Today, Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council welcomed a 17-person delegation from Sora, Italy, to celebrate more than 30 years of friendship and modernize the Sora-Vaughan twinning agreement established in 1992.
The delegation, which arrived on Friday, June 2 and will stay in the Greater Toronto Area until Monday, June 12, is led by Sora Mayor Luca Di Stefano and includes councillors, city staff and entrepreneurs.

Poor air quality affects dogs, cats and birds, too
If you are feeling the effects of the poor air quality caused by wildfire smoke, chances are your pets are, too.
Vaughan Animal Services is recommending you keep your elderly dogs, flat-faced dogs and cats, and domestic birds indoors. Only let your dogs outside for short periods of time, if needed. Make sure they have plenty of water to keep them hydrated.
