City of Vaughan Wins Award and Provides Council Input at Infrastructure Conference

​Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua led a delegation yesterday to ask the provincial government to fast-track investment in several key infrastructure projects in the City of Vaughan. The discussions were held with the Honourable Kathleen Wynne, Ontario’s Minister of Transportation who was participating in the annual conference of the Ontario Good Roads Association and the Rural Ontario Municipal Association in Toronto. 

Free Family Day Activities At Vaughan Community Centres

​Most City of Vaughan recreation facilities will provide free activities on the Family Day holiday on Monday, February 21, as well as regularly scheduled recreation programs and lessons.
 
Free recreational ice skating, sponsored by Tim Hortons, will be available at Al Palladini and Maple Arenas from 12 to 2 p.m., and Garnet A. Williams Arena from 2 to 4 p.m. Supervised skating on outdoor rinks is also available at specified times. Members of fitness facilities at the Al Palladini, Father Ermanno Bulfon, Garnet A.

Vaughan Breaks Record Raising More Than $67,000 For United Way Of York Region

​To complete the City of Vaughan’s 2010 United Way campaign, Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council recently presented a cheque to Daniele Zanotti, Chief Executive Officer of the United Way of York Region. City staff raised a record $67,529 through personal donations and a number of special events which ran from October to December, 2010.

Annual Golf Tournament Raises Over $143,000 for Future Hospital In Vaughan

Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council recently presented a cheque totalling more than $143,000 to the Vaughan Health Care Foundation. The donated funds were raised from the 2010 Mayor's Annual Golf Classic. The cheque was accepted on behalf of the foundation by Board Chairman Sam Ciccolini and President and CEO Robert Baker. ​
